Summer Raven Scarf
Dorothy Grant’s Scarves Collection
Woven Silk and Modal Scarf designed by Dorothy Grant
The Summer Raven Scarf design is the Raven Comes Full Circle and, is my latest design inspired by this majestic creature.
It is a bold Haida form-line art design and feather-weight to touch, yet it is warm for any season. The “Raven Comes Full Circle” scarf is my latest design. Bordered in my wave pattern, I’ve made the edge in a raw fringe.
In 4 elegant fashion colors, the all-season Sumer Raven Scarf is very long so it can be wrapped many times on the neck or draped elegantly on the shoulders.
The colours are:
Cream/Black/Red – that’s popular Haida art colors
Turquoise – for the sky and the ocean,
Gray/Black – for the natural color of the grey cloudy sky.
Mauve – brings to mind the ethos of renewal associated with springtime.
Woven with Silk and Modal (rayon) Scarf.
This scarf measures 88 in (Length) by 25 in (Width)
The history behind the art/legend
The Raven in NorthWest legends symbolizes creation, transformation, knowledge, prestige, as well as the complexity of nature and the subtlety of truth. He also expresses the unknown and shows that every person sees the world differently. The Raven was often called upon to clarify truths in visions, as the wise elders knew that what the eye sees is not always the truth.
The Raven is known as the messenger of the sky and famous for being a somewhat mischievous glutton. He’s always out to please himself and to have a good time. He’s very adventurous.
