The Human transformation hat, symbolizes the human form transforming to bird like creature with wings. This design was the first design Dorothy made in 1989 collection .
This same design was recently purchased by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC for its collection, along with the Shark Robe in 2026.
Dorothy puts an antique pearl button on top of each of her hats, signifying all hats are made by her hands only.
Dorothy believes that her clothing embodies the Haida philosophy Yaangudang meaning “self respect.” The driving force behind her clothing designs is “empowerment, pride and feeling good about oneself.”
